Terry is a third-generation Florence local who has spent his life working, raising his family, adventuring, and contributing to his hometown. Over the years, his business ventures have included road building, excavation, hauling, logging, commercial fishing, operating a gas station, and land development. These experiences have given him a practical understanding of hard work, local business, and the challenges and opportunities that come with building a community.

For the past ten years, Terry has served on the Port of Siuslaw Commission, with 6 of those years as Board Chair. During his time as a commissioner, he has helped bring consistency and solidarity to the Port, strengthen relationships with stakeholders, and guide an organization to run smoothly and effectively. His approach to leadership is hands-on and driven by hard work and effort.

Terry is running for Florence City Council because he believes his experience, knowledge, and history in the community have prepared him to stand up for the citizens of Florence at the city government level. Having spent his life in Florence, Terry wants to help ensure the community grows in a way that reflects its history, values, and the people who live here.

Terry is a Siuslaw High School graduate and four-year veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve, where he developed the discipline, accountability, and leadership skills that continue to shape his approach to work and service. Outside of his professional and community commitments, Terry enjoys fishing, college football, and spending time with his family.
